Hard Tacos

He's a true Owens (loves mexican food). He had 3 of these. Little bita meat, little bita salsa, little bita avocado, little bita tomatoes....YUMMMM.

Costco Visit

The boys and I made a Costco run today. You know, for the basics, like pretzels and TP. They weren't obnoxious or cranky so it went well. Conner liked helping me grab things and Wyatt just cruised. We even stopped to smell the roses. All the while singing..."The phone, the phone is ringing..."
I wanted to take the camera inside but didn't for two reasons. It's bulky. I'd look like a crazy person. So, I settled for looking like half a crazy person and took a couple of pics in the parking lot.

I really need to cut Conner's hair. This helmet head thing he's got going just isn't doing it for him. Maybe I can get to it tomorrow.

Sayonara

Conner demolished the couch cover. From tons of eyelash adhesive to pen marks and berry stains (from his face)...this thing has had it. It's the end of a 3 year run and I'm happy to see it go!

Say hello to Mr. Chocolate. He's soft and stretchy and laughs in the face of stains! We found him at Overstock.com and asked him to join the family. I'm not sure how Conner and Wyatt are gonna take it.

Happy Valentine's

Yeah, I wanna be one of those moms/wives. I'm trying to be creative and fun. Trying to help my family enjoy themselves. Loving it.
Made the hub nub and the kids some heart shaped (Conner safe) pancakes with berry sauce and soy whipped cream. Conner was beside himself with joy to eat these things!! Look at the excitement in his eyes! Adorable.

Josh got a little Valentine's gift from me that included Rascal Flatts tickets. Yeehaw! We're headed to the Bob That Head Tour in March! Gotta load up the Ipod with their music so Josh can familiarize himself with their songs. That way we can try to lose our voices together!
Later that day we left the kids with two capable babysitters and headed off to see Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre in LA. Josh was a good sport and even stayed awake the whole time...I LOVED it. I LOVE music- I really appreciate the arts. I had goosebumps the whole time. I need to go more often.

WoWos

He is soooo much fun now. Yes, I said it, he was kind of a hard baby...so sue me. He's really easy to make laugh and squeal and he's really ticklish! He likes to be chased around- Oh, and he likes veggies!!! Nice!

Valentine's Exchange

So, I made it to the Valentine's exchange...I was feeling up to it and I just couldn't stand the idea of missing Conner getting/giving Valentine's and eating cupcakes. I was trying to take pictures and direct Conner and watch WoWos too. Sheesh, I needed a few more hands.
Conner pretty much got the gist of the exchange but was mostly concerned about eating cupcakes. When I whipped out his chocolate cupcake he looked a little confused. Everyone else was eating white ones from a large plate why not him? Then he got over it and dug in.
Wyatt was aaaaalllll over the place, trying to grab everyone's suckers, slobbering sucker juice all over (sorry Lindsey- I should have been more attentive or just not given him one), and he LOVES stairs- so if I couldn't find him- I knew where to run.

We headed to Jump N' Shout after this. It was ridiculously busy. Seriously. Ridiculous. But Conner ran around all by himself and had a great time while Wyatt chatted up a storm (he had to match the volume level of the joint you see) and teetered around the mats. Fun day.

Valentine's Prep

Thank Heaven for Cherrybrook Kitchen and their dairy, egg, and nut free cake and frosting mixes. Now I can send Conner to his Valentine's exchange with a dessert he can eat. That way he won't cry when they tell him he can't eat the cupcakes everyone else is eating...

Speaking of crying...Josh and I shed a few tears (from laughing so hard) when I told him I was sending Conner out with a Victoria's Secret bag to hand out his Valentine's. Does this make me a bad mom? I thought about covering it with heart decorations and such...but then I thought again.
Thanks Rae for taking Conner to the "Valentine's" park for me tomorrow...so Wyatt and I can get our beauty rest.

Does this Answer Your Question?

I actually made the cornbread after Conner had gone to bed...so he never got a chance to try it. But I already knew he wouldn't like it- so I fed the rest to the birds.

These are the Days When Conner's Allergies Suck

Brittle sun baked desert floor?

No, just milk and egg free cornbread. Despite what it looks like...it's actually not that bad. Especially if you eat it like I do...Southern style- in a bowl soaked in (almond) milk and honey. yummmm.

Pobrecito

Kids Doc pronounces him "fine". Once again, "just" a virus. I just had to be sure it wasn't something worse...like the RSV that's going around.
Did you know Kids Doc was set up by a bunch of docs who wanted to provide child care after hours and on weekends without the costs and long lines of the ER...too bad everyone knows about it-so you still have to wait 2 hours just to get in- the added bonus is that you get to expose your kids to all the other sick kids in the waiting room...like the poor little girl we had the pleasure of watching throw up all over herself today.
Anyways, he's not so good, but not so bad that he's really bad. Know what I'm saying? Tired of hearing about my sick kids yet? Maybe some pictures will cure the boredom.

Horrible

This "virus" is kicking Conner's @%!. Thought I'd take him to Roadshow practice today...to get him out of the house since he's been locked up aaaaaaall week. Mom of the Year Award for me. He starts coughing and can't stop, his nose is running all over the place, the dark circles under his eyes turn purple, he's sweating like crazy, and doesn't even want to run around (imagine that). I gave him a treatment on the nebulizer when I got home. Now he's napping. Man! Can we just kick this already! Wyatt...has been fighting it off pretty well but today he's losing the battle and his symptoms seem to be heading for a showdown!
Pray for us and all the other sick little munchkins you know (or birthed). Angie Hiatt too...she's got pneumonia.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Chicken Pot Pie a la Betty Crocker and me- a delicious success!

*Viral Update: After Conner's expensive "you have a virus, there's nothing we can do" doctor appt today, he slept from 12:30 until 7:00. I just picture little plateletes with swords fighting fang toothed globules inside his body as he slept away the sickness.

Sickos

So yeah, this yucky sickness that is going around now has both boys down and out.
But don't they look adorable together watching "Train" (Polar Express).
Yes, we got our couch off the street in Trabuco...yes, I am washing the cover right now.
