Emotional Afterthought

I tried the life jacket but Conner could hardly move in it. He was like a kid in a super tight snow suit that can't move their arms or their head...so I took it off him and guess what happens.
He nearly drowns.
I was feeding Wyatt by the side of the pool and was watching Conner from afar as he played in the spa with his friends. Suddenly, I noticed him under the water with his arms straight up and he was kicking to get up. I yelled something and my sweet friend grabbed him quickly and held him tight- thank heaven she was there! He came over to me and held on to my legs, crying Mama.
I tried to downplay it for his benefit but inside I was super sad and emotional.
I put Wyatt down and got in the pool with him and he shook it off in no time...he was non-stop jumping to me from the side of the pool and having a blast. I didn't think about it much while still in the pool, but when I got home and Conner went down for a nap and Wyatt was sleeping- it was so quiet and I suddenly began to see the incident over and over in my head. I started to cry and had to call Josh. He made me feel so much better- but gosh, not being able to know that your babies are going to be safe all the time for the rest of their lives is really hard on a parent (sorry Mom, for the h@!% I put you through). I know my future with two boys will be far from uneventful but I think that if I were to worry about everything, I would never leave the house.

Boy do I love my 3 boys.

Lazy Day

Josh let me sleep in this morning. He woke up with Conner and let me stay in bed until 9:30!! Oh the joy of extra sleep!!!! By the time I went downstairs and fed Wyatt again, it was too late to go anywhere without cutting into Conner's nap time. So, I made him lunch and he went down for a nap. I fed Wyatt, again, and then just laid there on the couch with him on my belly and zoned out on TV.
When Conner got up, I fed Wyatt, again, and then we went over to Gram and Gramps to swim in the pool. He has gotten over his fear pretty much...he doesn't like to wade around without you near, but he LOVES to jump from the edge of the pool into your arms!! So cute. I need to get him one of those buoyancy suits like Owen's- or I have a life jacket he could wear. Yeah, that's what I will try. He wants to go down the water slide really bad. He crawls up the stairs and then we have to pull him down crying. He went down a few times last year in one of those blow up crabs for babies. Maybe I'll try that again.
Conner and Sydney had a great time playing together tonight. They get along so well- with just a few tiffs here and there. I love to watch their dynamics.
Poor Josh isn't feeling good today. I think I will try to get up with Conner and Wyatt myself tomorrow morning so that HE can sleep in.

Adventures with two

Conner will only eat corn if it is on the cob. Notice the green beans left untouched on his plate as well.

As you can see, Conner's shiner is on it's way to getting better. One of his cousins pushed him off a chair and we think he hit his eye on the computer.
Also, do you notice the fork in his tongue? It's cuz he's tongue tied.

Conner is holding Josh's old cabbage patch doll.
Yes, you heard me right, I did say JOSH'S doll.

Conner loves to lay down next to his brother every chance he can get.

I went to Old Navy today to get a post pregnancy swimsuit to wear at Gram and Gramps pool. First, I forgot to take the double stroller and remembered only about a block away from the house but decided I could "cart it" with the two just as easy.
When we got to the store I made the mistake of putting Conner in the basket part and then realized that the front part of the cart was way too skinny to accommodate a baby seat. I had to pull a screaming Conner out of the back and force his legs into the holes. I preoccupied him with some red patten leather shoes...
I chose about 8 different suits - varying in sizes and colors. Seriously? I was so laughing so hard in the fitting room. Most of the suits are made for really skinny people with slightly smaller boobs than mine. All I could do was laugh and try to be optimistic about a future "more fit" me. Wow has my body changed since I had Wyatt. I thought about a time where I would have been a lot more distressed about the whole thing. Way back when, when I was super young and fit and looked great but didn't think so. I know what I can get myself to look like- and that is not what I saw in the mirror at Old Navy! Jessica, who has lost over 30 pounds since Christmas, and my new swimsuit are great motivation to step it up! Oh yeah, and the trip to Hawaii in August!

KINKY

This is a part eaten fish sausage that comes in Udon Soup- which I love- but doesn't it look disgusting? It doesn't have much flavor...and I'm not sure if it has any nutritional value.
Conner loves to sit in the boppy and hold Wyatt.

Conner eating bird seed as we fill up the bird feeder.

Conner in my tennierunners.

Conner playing in the leaking water from the faucet while I watered the plants.

Ready for church.

Before sunday church.

Conner has finally started saying BINKY instead of just going UM- UM-UM over and over until we give him his binky. The only thing is, is that he says KINKY instead of BINKY. And he puts a large emphasis on the KI part and extends the NKY part so it sounds like KEEEEE. So cute.
I think I am starting to adjust to being alone and all the things I have to do to protect the house or keep Conner busy while I am feeding Wyatt. Luckily, Wyatt still sleeps a lot...but I can tell that he is working his way up to staying awake for longer stints more often.
Me and the boys (including Josh) went to The Aquarium of the Pacific on Saturday. They were setting up for the Long Beach Grand Prix down there so lots of stuff was blocked off and there were a buttload of people. There were also a ton of people at the aquarium (they were celebrating Earth Day) and Josh is not big on crowds. Conner wasn't extremely interested in the exhibits- he would run up to them, say WOW, then run to the next. He wouldn't touch the bat rays but he liked looking at them with daddy. He kept trying to drink the water in the tidepools. That is my fault, because I taught him how to scoop water from the sink faucet and drink it- so now he sticks his hands in all water and tries to drink. I managed to breastfeed Wyatt in public without any problems!! I could have never done that with Conner. Everyone made comments on how cute Wyatt was- I held him in the baby "backpack" on the front of me. He has major acne right now so I'm sure some people were like "EWWW" Poor kid.
Josh took Conner to church yesterday by himself. I was very impressed cuz it took a little coaxing on my part. Josh really enjoyed himself and was glad to be a part of Elders Quorum that day because they were switching leaders and so the Stake Presidency were all in attendance.
Later that day we went to Gram and Gramps for dinner as usual and the kids played in the 80 degree pool (thanks to our 95 degree weather). Conner was in the pool on the step and fell off into the deeper part. He scared the crap out of himself (not literally thank heavens) and so he would not go in the pool anymore but had fun running around and saying WO over and over and pointing into the pool. Like saying, Wo, man, did you see that? I just fell in the pool, Wo!!!!
It's so beautiful outside right now. 85 degrees with a tiny little breeze. Everything is blooming and I feel an itch to get outside and do something. Love it here in Cali!
Jessica, Drew, and their family are all coming to visit this coming tuesday. We are so excited to have them here!

Brothers Two

Wyatt is enjoying a bath.
One day Conner pulled the boppy up on the couch, sat in the center of it, and then put his hands out. I guess he wanted to hold Wyatt! And so he did. My heart melted.

Conner keeping himself busy while I fed Wyatt.

Mystery Comment

I don't know if you noticed but a couple of blogs ago, I received a comment from an unkown person...who invited me to check out their blog. I have not looked at their blog- in case it was an invatation to a virus and I am kinda worried about some strange person commenting on my family.
I have thought about changing my blog over to the kind where you have to be invited to see it. In fact, I am going to be doing this as soon as I have more time to look into how I do this and then evite everyone.
Sorry if this seems weird. I just feel a little protective of my kids and I don't want the wrong kind of people learning about my family....
