End of Summer

Since we've been back, I've felt a little more brave taking on the two boys by myself. I took them to the beach by myself one day and we had a great time. I tried to keep our stuff to a minimum and it was nice to have Wyatt sleep for a little bit of our time there.

Wyatt's teeth are well on their way to being in...I'd say their about 1/8 of the way up. His little eczema spot disappeared in Hawaii cuz of the humidity and all the sunblock.....but it's back with a vengeance!
We went to Molly and Hannah's birthday party today and Conner had SO MUCH FUN. We were the last guests to leave (besides family). Conner got a chance to ride his scooter outside on the sidewalk and he did really great.
We went to Jump N' Shout yesterday...Conner was soaking wet with sweat by the time we left and kept saying "Jump - Shout - Again - Monnie!"

Here is a long @!% slideshow of Hawaii. Warning: We were there 10 days and took an average of 200 pics a day!! I tried to narrow it down!

A Story Comes to Mind

As I was pondering today about how "hard" Conner could potentially be, I was reminded of a story my mom once told me...
Me- Mom, why did you let me walk home from Kindergarten (about a mile and a half)? Don't you think I was a little young for that? (I was just thinking that since she was a working Mom, she couldn't take me to and from Kindergarten).
Mom- Um, well, you wanted to...I went to pick you up from school one day and you had left the school and walked home by yourself...
What am I in for????????????

Dragon Game

While in Hawaii, Daddy invented a game to play with Conner to keep him happy while we drove in the car.
He has Conner open his mouth and say, "Ahhh", then he says, "Oh, there's a dragon in there! Can I touch it?" and Conner lets him stick his finger in his mouth. Daddy pretends the dragon is soft or prickly or that he bit him and Conner giggles to no end. Then Daddy asks Conner to cough and he coughs the dragon into Daddy's cupped hands. Daddy reacts very wildly and says he has the dragon in his hands and he should let him go out the window. He opens the window, lets the dragon go and says, "Bye Bye Dragon!"
Now we all play the dragon game a hundred times a day!

Quickly

It's so hard to get to the computer and actually spend a little time writing and posting pics. I have gotten a chance to "glance" at other people's blogs but haven't had time to comment. I am glad to see that everyone is having a fun summer- between traveling and family events.

Wyatt started cutting teeth while we were in Hawaii...which explains his constant need for attention (I think). He is getting his two bottom teeth at the same time. This is two months and one tooth ahead of Conner...maybe I'm glad I'm not still breastfeeding!Conner is testing me huge. He really likes to smack and squish Wyatt. He smacks Mommy and Daddy too which really ticks me off- I was loudly and firmly telling him not to do it...but it wasn't working. Today, when he did it, I picked him up gently, put him in time out, and told him softly no hitting. He wiggled around and tried getting up so I figured it wasn't working- SIGH! What next? So, he comes up to me, smacks my leg, says no while shaking his head, and goes to sit in time out by himself. He repeated this 5 or 6 times. What the heck? I'm assuming this means this method is working....although we are still getting whacked.

Conner is getting so big and he is jumping off high things with both feet together and going up stairs without holding railings or walls (he's been doing that for about a month). He says so many words and loves to repeat everyone. You should hear him when we go through a drive through window!! Hilarious. He says Monnie for Mommy (which I love).

They are both such blessings to me. Such wonderful amazing little guys that make me enormously happy. I think Conner is just so cute in all that he does and Wo Wos is silly and grabby (as in he loves to grab stuff-making crazy grunting noises), he loves watching Conner and laughs at him all the time. What a bunch of giggles we have going on in this house!!

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy-dogs' tails,
That's what little boys are made of.

Crazy Busy

I have been SOOOOO crazy busy trying to get ready for Hawaii. I have been on errand after errand trying to get everything. I need to keep Conner occupied on the plane so I bought him a bunch of coloring stuff and toys and snacks...bringing along a portable DVD player too.

I had to go get Wyatt's birth certificate today at the Laguna Hills Civic Center. Saw my first live gay marriage...at least the place was clean and quick and close.

Everyone in our house is SICK! Yuck!! Runny noses, sore throats, and fatigue...thank Heaven this is happening now and not when we leave for Hawaii.

Getting my hair done tomorrow. Rae is babysitting. SO KIND OF HER!!!!

Josh has 7 reports due in the 7 days left before we go to Hawaii...he is down to 4 days.
