There's a few reasons why I love this picture. First: Josh and his dad are in a photo together (which rarely happens), and they're both quite jolly. Second: This picture tells a story that I'll never forget especially because Grandma caught it all on film. Josh's wedding ring was a little loose and when we were swimming it came off and got lost in the mayonnaise like sediment of the back of Kawela Bay. He was desperately digging around swearing to me that he'd find it. For some reason, I wasn't worried. I wasn't mad, I wasn't freaking; I figured he wouldn't find it. Suddenly he jumped up and yelled, "I got it!" He held it up, put it on, and did a little football touchdown celebration (backwards) which abruptly came to an end when he tripped and fell backwards over the kayak. Nice. Third and lastly: It shows his hairy chest and broad muscly upper body. Which I love. Hee Hee. Oh, and his dimples. His dimples are great!

Out with the old...
I was 8 months pregnant with Nonners and a little ambitious when I purchased these great Adirondack Chairs at a garage sale. I had high hopes of sanding and repainting. Obviously, that never happened. So, a little over two years later, I'm giving them up. They are super rickety- I tried tightening them- to no avail... I hope someone will pick them up.

A Lot For One Day
Oh, my sweet precious boy loves to brush his teeth. He crawls up the counter and makes sure to use each tooth brush he can find.
Creepy Crawlies everywhere! The giant furry spider on the left was in Conner's stroller seat when I picked him up after our run the other day. It was still plump and movable (not dry, crispy, and frozen in position) so I'd imagine it was alive when I sat Conner down on him...
I can't even stand how cute Conner is in his little Caribbean Pirate costume. We got a chance to show him off at our church's Trunk or Treat Party tonight. He got the hang of begging for candy...he'd hold the purple pumpkin high above his head toward the people and say, "Mwor peeez" then, "kenk-u".

Green Bay Packers Cheerleaders
Josh and I were watching a college football game tonight (ok- he was watching, I was daydreaming) but I did see the cheerleaders and I thought, "that would be a cute Halloween Costume" (not the sleezy ones...). Then I wondered what the Packers Cheerleaders wore when it was like 20 below zero during a game. Here is what I found...
The Green Bay Packers have no official cheerleaders. The Packers haven't had official cheerleaders since 1988, however cheerleaders from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and St. Norbert College appear at home games throughout the season. The Packers discontinued their squad of official cheerleaders in large part due to fan indifference. There are no plans to return to official cheerleaders.
Interesting.

What a Day
After inhaling 2 waffles with berries and syrup on top, this little dumpling face said, "More Wok-O's and Bay Bays peees!!"
Look closely, you'll see a chubalub amongst this plethora of color!

Before and After
My favorite so far. Using another garage sail find, I transformed a morbid wreath into a vase of sweet smelling Bacarras for a ghoul. I printed a chilling skeleton and put him in a wedding frame.

A Day of Firsts
Grandma and Grandpa W sent us a cute little Halloween care package. I LOVE getting things in the mail! Conner opened and unpacked the box with great enthusiasm. We just HAD to eat our lunch from the festive Halloween place settings!!

I took advantage of the majorly windy weather we've been having and gathered some fallen branches this morning. I had originally planned to paint them black but I think I like their natural look much better.
I still have to complete a few more projects before the mantle is finished. Stay tuned... I was able to listen to conference and cut most of these little buggers out at the same time. Aren't they great! I got the idea and templates off http://www.marthastewart.com/. Fabulous!
I bought some black ribbon with orange sparkles today at Costco. I am going to add giant bows to the banister and other various places around the house.
I'm having lots of fun. Conner saw the mice and gasped, making his eyes wide. So hilarious! He likes to pull on their tails. I think next year I will make them out of those thin foam sheets they sell at craft stores that way they are hard to damage and easy to store for the following years.
Grab a Kleenex and go to http://welovethenielsons.blogspot.com/ to check out a video about the Nielson's and possibly participate in their benefit auction.
